Welcome to Pass It On, a newsletter bringing the tech and non-profit sectors closer together through knowledge sharing.
Thanks so much for expressing interest; I'm really pleased to have you here.
👩Who am I?
I'm Lauren, a Brit living on Swedish soil. Since starting a career in digital strategy six years ago, I have believed in the power of creativity to inspire change and pursued projects to bring the private and third sectors closer together. A few years ago, I co-produced a viral campaign that crowdfunded £23k to replace tube ads with pictures of cats. The aim was to help people imagine a world where advertising didn't dominate public space and show that creativity can be used for good, not just for profit.
Fast forward to 2020: I'm Product Marketing Lead at M, a Stockholm-based innovation venture from Volvo Cars that's using intelligent technology to inspire a more conscious approach to car usage in cities.
🤔Why a knowledge sharing newsletter?
Well, if you've read my recent article, you'll know it's because of a chat with the CEO of 4Sight Vision Support, Nik Demetriades, a.k.a my dad (hi Dad!). We talked about the challenges facing the charity as a whole and him as a leader in these exceptional times, and it got me thinking. The tech industry claims to both thrive on change and build teams that succeed in uncertainty; we should be passing on that information to more leaders and organisations who would benefit from it. And we should be doing it now because Covid and its consequences aren't disappearing any time soon.
So that's why I've started this newsletter. To arm you, as a non-profit leader, with the tried and tested methods from Tech that build resilient high-performing teams. No complicated process maps or industry jargon; just simple, actionable advice to help you help your organisation adapt and work smarter. For example:
How can I run a strategic workshop remotely? How do I increase team openness to new tools and ways of working? What should I be saying and doing to maintain team trust and cohesiveness while we're all at a distance?
These are some of the questions I plan to answer in subsequent issues. I'm aiming to publish monthly for now, but may increase the frequency depending on what's most useful for you.
